Krushkin Griltskoll was a very rich insectoid. He had made his money in trading precious minerals and liked nothing more than to relax at the Tempus. This visit had been as a result of an invitation from Henry Kozell himself for a large night where they bet on historic battles from across the universe. He was getting dressed for dinner, fitting his six arms into a freshly pressed shirt when he heard a noise. Screaming and crashing coming from the corridor outside. His antennae twitched as he heard getting closer and closer, he opened his drawer and produced a ivory handled blaster pistol, then began edging his way towards the door. It slid open to reveal a scene of carnage; one man staggered forward, clutching his chest which had been pierced by what looked like a long silver spear. The man collapsed in his doorway, Griltskoll looked down the corridor and saw several other guests thunder down the hallway. He cocked his pistol and jumped out of the doorway into the hall, trying to see the attacker with his four eyes, his antennae picked nothing up.
It was of no use however, as a blank faced silver figure appeared as if out of nowhere and fired a spear into his chest. He staggered back and fell to the ground dying as his killer disappeared once more.
The Doctor was on his feet now, grabbing his long beige raincoat from the back of the chair and throwing it on. Kozell put up his hands. 'And where the hell do you think you're going? You lost! Your my property!'
The Doctor felt the rage rise inside him. 'And after I've stopped your guests being murdered and delivered this criminal into the hands of the Judoon I'm all yours.' He snapped, indicating for Anna to join him. They both moved forward, only to be blocked by Kozell.
'And how do I know you won't just get in your TARDIS and leave us all to die? You stay here Doctor!' Kozell ranted, struggling to maintain control.
'If I stay here Mr Kozell, your empire crumbles around you. People have already died. More people will die. I'm the only one here who can stop this, because if I don't you won't be owning anything or anyone.' The Doctor pushed the Casino owner aside, and made for the door before pausing and turning on his heel back towards Kozell. 'But before I go, I need a list of every single creature you had locked up in those cells.'
Kozell shook his head. 'You're an employee of mine, you're not entitled to that information.'
'Kozell I'm warning you...' the Doctor snarled.
Kozell bowed his head and produced a datapad from the inside pocket of his tuxedo. After typing a couple of things into it he handed it to the Doctor.
The Doctor grinned. 'Thank you very much!' And with that he darted through the door, coattails flapping behind him.
The Judoon Commander flashed the scanner in the face of Jaffrey, paused a moment then grunted; 'DNA scan negative.' It marked an X on the Security Chiefs hand before moving on to the trembling guests huddled in the lobby.
'Now wait a minute, we can help you! I need my security staff to assist me with the breakout in the residences then after that you can scan all the guests and security staff you want.'
'Your problems here are your own concern. The Judoon are not here to assist you.' The Commander grunted before flashing the scanner in the face of a bewildered elderly gentleman. 'DNA scan negative.'
Jaffrey sighed, produced his pistol then made his way towards the lifts to take him to the residences. 'You are not to leave this area!' Commanded the Judoon. 'There is a risk you will warn our suspect.'
'For God's sake there's people dying down there!' Jaffrey cried, stepping into the lift. The Judoon Commander turned to his troops, Jaffrey realised something was wrong and began hammering the button willing the door to close.
'Escaping custody. Penalty: Death.' The Judoon opened fire.
The Doctor whistled as he looked down the list. 'Talk about having your work cut out for you.'
Anna hurried alongside him. 'Tough crowd?'
'You could say that...' he muttered. '...Raston warrior robot, Yeti, a Werewolf.... various other nasties...ah-ha! an Ice Warrior!'
'Ikthzar?' Anna asked.
'Almost certainly.' He pushed the button on the lift and put the datapad in his coat pocket.
'So what's the plan?'
The Doctor turned to her and puffed out his cheeks. 'Ooooh, simple really. Avoid the prisoners having an out and out battle with the Judoon, lure them to the Time Scoop, send 'em all back where they came from then avoid giving the Judoon an excuse to execute everyone here for harbouring a fugitive!'
'All in all just another day in the office then?'
The Doctor grinned. 'Yup, ready?'
'Always...' They stepped into the lift.
Below the casino in the hidden floor they watched the chaos taking place in the upper floors and caught sight of the man in the tweed suit and beige raincoat. He seemed so familiar, yet his face was different from the records. The Leader ordered a scan to be run, it took seconds for the result to come back. 'It is the Doctor. He shall be witness to our greatest victory!'
