I thought it was a cracking story. I'm certainly happy RTD didn't try to "Easterize" it with killer bunnies and grenade eggs or any such rubbish.
I feel sad they are giving Tennant's Doctor a sad ending. Partly it's the drawn out string of specials, but also no companion. Christina would have been a great one. She just wants adventure, no romance.

I agree, a great story. Much better than the Christmas episodes.
I wondered about the "you will knock four times" foreshadowing and "your song will end soon". River Song?

The Song for Ten? My opinions on this story are documented in my blog (See below) but basically I felt it was a bit too light and fluffy for my tastes, very much looking forward to and dreading the final 3 stories for David Tennant, who, (for someone who should technically call Paul McGann "His Doctor") is really "My Doctor". Gonna miss him, sob.

I think we'll all going to miss Tennant.
I enjoyed the story, even though the plot was more like a Star Trek plot with its technobabble. Although to be fair, DW's strength was always been its variety to story types.

Well, I have to say, this was quite a good one. Better than I was expecting, to be honest. Several points, they've probably been covered, but I've just seen this via Sky+ The Kiss, was good to see that it wasn't the Doctor who instigated that one. Can kinda let that one slide. Lee Evans, a lot better than I expected him to be. I was expecting him to be playing it for laughs and camping it up big time with the RTD writing, but was rather surprised. The humour he portrayed seemed to fit quite well, and more realistic humour, as it fitted the story. He was a really good character. For a moment at the end I thought he was going to snog the Doctor, glad he didn't though. I'm not a fan of his comedy, and him in general, but I think in whole, this was a great performance by him. I was rather impressed. The flying bus. Sorry, but that was a touch too corny, especially the end, with the Doctor letting Christina go off on the bus, too cheesy and ruined it a little. Personally, I'd have had her been arrested, the Doctor saying that you have to take the punishment, and saying something like that happened to him, but then I guess that was just typical RTD for you. But I think that, the cheesy music and the Mission Impossible start were the only things I've got against this one. The cryptic message at the end from the woman, whos name escapes me, was certainly intriguing. I get the knock four times as a link to the Master myself. Although I didn't think of the drum beat, more the two time lords and their four hearts. Slightly off the wall reasoning, but I think the drumbeat is more likey now it's been mentioned. I just hope the "they are returning" refers to the Time Lords and not the Daleks, who have been used to the point of overkill at the moment, just put them to rest for a little while. The Fly guys, seemed to be conveniently gotten rid of, but were quite interesting, I guess the TARDIS translation circuits don't reach halfway across the universe! They were good, but not as iconic as the Daleks or Cybermen, or even Zygons, as they were mooted to be. There are better aliens, but these weren't bad. The prosthetics for them was rather stunning, and rather creepy and a little stomach churning with the glistening mandibles. I liked the return of UNIT as well. Glad to see they weren't completely gotten rid of by the Daleks in Stolen Earth. ;D Hope to see some more of them maybe. So in all; I enjoyed it, I'd say the best special that RTD has (co)written so far.

I really don't get the "knock four times" reference to the Master or anything else. Sorry LB, I liked Lady Christina's "Mission Impossible" entrance. (As one catwoman to another.) ;D I do hope the Time Lords are not coming back. I like the pathos their absence brings out in the Doctor. Just makes me want to hug him and make him feel all better.
