I've just read some really angering news on the website www.tv.comwww.tv.com/story/story.html&story_id=5948The report says that due to a complaint (singular) by some moron, Turner are removing scenes that glamourise smoking in classic toons such as Tom & Jerry, The Flinstones etc. This is just ridiculous, I don't and have never been a smoker, it doesn't do anything for me, I have made this decision myself through experiences with cigarettes, which were offered to me, I did not actively seek them because I saw it on a Tom & Jerry toon. The fact is that these cartoons were made at a time when smoking was a big part of life, it still is a big part of life, I mean for goodness sake there's bans being proposed all over the place, it's still an issue! But chopping classic cartoons on the offchance one child that watches it takes up smoking is ridiculous, cigarettes are out there, people are going to be offered them, they'll make their own decisions, it's what human beings do. I'm fed up of this ridiculous notion that the media is to blame for poisoning our childrens minds. Junk food commercials? Oh yes absolutely, but it comes down to the parents to realise that its not healthy for their kids to eat crap all the time, the same with smoking and the same with violence. Leave our cartoons alone Turner!

I suppose it's a matter of perspective. There are several Looney Tunes episodes that have racist stereotypes, that are not shown anymore. Is the removal of smoking too PC? I don't know.

Yes it is IMHO. They should remove the cigarettes instead.
Oh, I forgot. The governments around the world make too much money from them so that will never happen.
