I'm loosing my enthusiasm in the world of Doctor Who forums. Some of you may no of my problems in the real world and that the Doctor Who community was much a distraction chatting about my number one tv series of all time. The problem is that most forums have become very quite and frankly I just end up bored when I log in which is so depressing.
Far gone was the day we all had a big community. We all started when leaving the BBCi boards as they closed. We had Dan's Doctor Who 2005 (which has traveled twice and has regenerated into 9th & Beyond) and my site Logopolis Metropolis. Now even my site don't give much excitement anymore. Thinking seriously about calling it a day.

Hi Richie,
I think we have all thought a little about that a bit. I've been very busy and admittedly have neglected this forum for a while and it got quite quiet. However, I always love stopping by to see what people are chatting about.
While I would never suggest to anyone that they neglect their real life for any forum, it does provide an outlet from the stress.
It would be better if we all got together on one forum again, but each admin has an emotional investment in the forum they've created, so we stay with our own sites.
Don't give up on us yet, Richie. Let's talk some more.
And here's a tease: I'm working on three new fanfic stories which I hope will amuse and excite.

Why not get involved in giving LM a re-vamp and actively seeking new members? I know that you were not impressed with the changes we made over on The Final Frontier, but the forum has been quite active today.
I adverise in SFX every now and again, and I really recommend you and John do the same. It brings in a few new members who have different opinions and some of them have become regulars on TFF. SFX adverts are free and if you go to the SFX site, you will find an e-mail link to send them your free ad.
What have you got to lose? It may get you more involved and revive your interest again.

Sorry you're feeling low Richie
It's very hard not to get disheartened when the forums are so quiet
I agree with Duncan perhaps you should try advertising in SFX

The forums are indeed rather quiet, but you should stick with it, we all need our little havens in life. I'm hoping to liven up the fan fiction board with a new series of adventures for the newly regenerated Doctor and Anna.

Personally, I dont think that Johns idea of all getting together on one forum would work, but I'd be prepared to give it a go in order to clear the air.

Oh, I agre Thasc. I wasn't meaning merge all forums into one. I was thinking more along the lines of setting a new one up and trying to contact the long lost members and all getting together on this new forum to discuss what went wrong and maybe clear the air. It would only be a temporary forum.

Understandable, which is why I don't really think it would work anyway.

I agree, Richie.
Also most forums (not this one or the Final Frontier) are restrictive dictatorships where free speech is outlawed. That is the internet for you. I suggest we create a form free of administration where problems resolve themselves. Perhaps an anarchistic forum is what DW needs.
