Oh dear it's turning into a bit of a nightmare, he's questioning now how this pay as you go connection option works how does it appear on your phone bill and all that, coo dear Thasc's got a headache coming on So nothing has been set up as yet It will just show up as a normal call. BT will tell you how many calls were made, for how long and the overall cost for those calls. If you are on-line at the weekend for one hour it will cost you just 60p. That's what I thought Do you have to have a seperate phone number Sorry to plug you for information but my Dad is doing my head in with all these questions, seems to me he's trying to turn something easy into something complicated I know it is his laptop but I could have really fallen out with him last night Grrrrrrrrrr

No. You will need to plug your laptop modem in to the BT box that you will have in you house. Once you install the disc, just follow the instructions. The disc will automatically program your modem in to which number to dial in to. Register your details, set up your e-mail address and BINGO. You've done it.
You will not be able to use the telephone at the same time as there is only one line and that will be in use by the laptop.
