My weight loss programme is under way. I need to lose about 3 stone.
I really miss the coffee. That was my downfall.

Three stone, sounds painful ;D
BTW, how much is a stone?

14 pounds is one stone so in need to lose 42lbs.
I'll never do it.

Perhaps we can work on it together. I didn't really have a goal, but I can make it 42 pounds.
I get real busy and eat too much fast food. And when I'm in the house alone, I nibble more than I should.

I don't drink very much. I have breakfast, normally a sandwich, a yoghurt and a piece of fruit for lunch and an evening meal. I'm not a big drinker, only going out one friday a month if I'm lucky. My wife and I do share a bottle of wine at the weekend though. So I don't know how I have put on such much weight. I am currently the heaviest I have ever weighed and need to shed some desperately as we are going to Crete in August. If I go swimming in the sea, it will cause a high tide in Turkey!
Actually, the fact that I don't exercise is more than likely the cause. So, that's a factor that I need to change.
If your serious about working on this together, we can post our loss/gains each week if you want. If it's in the public domain, I'll be likely to stick at it.

Well, I lost three pounds, but regained two. I don't know how to measure body fat. So far, that's... Duncan 3 John 1

Our scales do that. You can pick them up fairly cheap these days. Well done on your 1lb loss. A loss is a loss. I lost a further 1lb in week 2 so that's four down 38 to go!

This sounds like "The Bigger Loser", an American reality competition show about losing weight.

My problem is that I can lose weight in the first few weeks then I hit a plateau and don't lose any. I end up losing heart and giving up!

My problem is that I can lose weight in the first few weeks then I hit a plateau and don't lose any. I end up losing heart and giving up! That usually happens around the 7 to 8 pound mark. That's when you really need to exercise.
