Just been thinking about the life forms Web Planet. The Menoptera look like giant butterflies, but they can walk upright, so they must be vertebrates. Also, they're intelligent beings so they must have highly developed brains, which also doesn't exist in invertebrates on our own world. ANother thing, why don't they have six limbs? I suppose we'd have to say, that we're dealing with a completely different category of life-form here, one that has many characteristics in common with our insects, but fundamentally doesn't fit into any earth-based classification.

i suppose its down to the fact that all life in the universe is infinately variable, i mean, look at all the humanoid races out there, that arent human, like the Time Lords, Thals, Kaleds, just to name a few.
