If you had to choose a favourite between the two, which?
And why?

I think it would have to be Tennant, I took to him straight away
Somehow he reminds me of a cross between the Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker Doctors ;D

i havent seen enought of TEnnant to decide yet. ill tell you at the end of the next season when ive had plenty of time to judge the two. but then you also have to rely on the quality of the writing. for example, Colin Baker was a very good DOctor, yet a lot of his stories weren't written well and he was treated shoddily!

I admit, his scripts were often rubbish. And, he was treated shoddily. Yet, I still wasn't a big fan of him in that role. (Colin was better at playing villians.)

I had a 'discussion' with Rob Filth on LM about Tennant vs. Eccleston. I tried to reason with Rob that it is too early to compare the two performances. If you know Rob, you know what he thinks; so, I won't rehash that here.
I say give Tennant a full series and then make a comparison. If I had to compare them now, I would do my best to limit my comparison to CiN/TCI and "Rose"/first half of TEotW. That is roughly the same amount of time for each Doctor. However, that isn't even a fair comparison since Tennant was recovering from the regeneration in the first half or so of TCI and didn't have much to do during that time. But, just basing it on those episodes, I would have to go with Eccleston.
In saying that, I think Tennant easily could be my favourite between the two depending on Tennant's complete tenure in the role. Time will tell, it always does.

That's very fair and even-handed, Doc.
As I've only seen clips of them, being stranded in the U.S., I'll choose Eccleston.
Sorry, I mean Tennant; no, Eccleston, Tennant. Eccleston. Tennant.
that's my final word, i think. ;D

Well acting aside for the moment, Tennant is the cutest of all the Docs.

Well acting aside for the moment, Tennant is the cutest of all the Docs. Cuter than Tom 'I married a companion' Baker?

I like Tom a lot. He's wonderful. And I loved seeing his jelly baby. But David is the cutest. Sorry.

This is really like trying to compare One Story Wonder McGann, to Seven Season Tom Baker. It really is too early to choose. the question should be asked at the end of season two really. So I will wait and answer it then.
