The Sontarans are one of my favourite villians. Actually it's hard for me to think of them as villians; they're so darn potato-heady cute.
I like the characterisation of General Skor, an honourable warrior, apologising for not killing the soldiers because soldiers deserve a noble death, or something like that.

Permit me to point out the first flaw: The Doctor indicated that UNIT would know about the Sontarans, but I don't recall any Sontaran encounters during a UNIT story.
Outside of that, a brilliant story. Although, there's clearly something big yet to be revealed.

The Third Doctor was in the middle of a Unit stint when he went back in time with Sarah in her first adventure The Time Warrior. therefore, he must have put some sort of dossier together for them once he returned?

Yeah, really enjoyed this episode. Not sure about the portrayal of UNIT, the Doctor seemed far too quick to judge, at least the 3rd Doctor let them make mistakes before berating their guns blazing attitude. And an evil clone? Puh-lease! Still, it's been a good run of episodes so far, and quite old school!

The evil clone didn't bother me as much as it might have since the Sontarans are clones themselves.

I'm just concerned we may end up with the old "I'm not the clone, he is!" chestnut this Saturday. Hopefully not...
