Good episode. While there have been previous mentions and appearances of UNIT, this was the first time in the series that the Doctor worked with them in the same way he did in the Pertwee era.
There was even a Brigadier reference. I hope it is a foreshadowing of the Brig's return. But I'm glad they didn't bring him back to do just another 'aliens-invading-Earth' story. They need something special for him.
And yes another fleeting glimpse of Rose. She's obviously the series 4 version of the Bad Wolf/Torchwood/Harold Saxon plot thread.
