Hi,
I'm working on a little project about identity theft, etc.
In the U.S., we have 9-digit social security numbers as our main identification. (###-##-####)
What is the equivalent identification in the UK? What is it called? And what would it look like?
Thanks.

We have a National Insurance number that consists of three letters and six numbers in the style of AB 12 34 56 C.
In terms of banking, we have a PIN (Personal Identification Number) and often various random security numbers that can be different styles in different banks.
Although I'm sure that someone will either add more or correct me where needed.

I don't think there is much to add LB. The NI number is asked for a lot of things when you need to put your presonal details on a form.
