I've recently been watching interviews on YouTube of the various actors who played the Doctor. Many are quite fascinating. Some are predictable. Pertwee is usually a bit bombastic. Colin Baker is usually a cheerleader for the show. Tom Baker is often mercurial and a little bit alien.
However, Troughton is to me the most unpredictible. There's always this uncertainty of whether he wants to be interviewed at all, even when he says he doesn't mind being interviewed. Sometimes it obvious he's not even listening to the questions.

Yes, Troughton always claimed he wanted to be anonymous, so people (casting people I suppose) could see him as a blank. I'm not sure I would agree with his philosophy. He was certainly a talented enough chamelion, so a little personality wouldn't have gotten in the way.
