Loved the change of pace. It wasn't about saving the planet or the universe. It was more about Vincent Van Gogh. In a way it went back to the programme's roots, meeting historical figures such as Marco Polo. Although on a personal note the ending was suspiciously similar to the ending of my fanfic story, Days Even Darker. (I used Picasso, instead of Van Gogh.)

An absolutely beautiful episode. I loved Tony Currans portrayal of van Gogh, he got the bi-polar nature of the artist so beautifully and accurately across and it was good to see mental health issues dealt with in a positive light. The writing was superb and the whole premise worked perfectly for me. Whilst the story and monsters aren't classics, the characterisation and character development were so well done, it elevates itself into one of the best episodes of the season for me.

It took me a while to get to see this one, but I finally got to see it online. It was worth it. It's a wonderful character piece that left me wanting to learn more about Van Gogh. I also think it should have been called Vincent and Amy. It was an interesting story to have right after losing Rory. I hope they are able to recover Rory in the finale.
