A cracking series opener, with the intensity of an end-of series episode. I always love time travel stories where the past and future are interdependent. (Apparently so does Stephen Moffat.)
Fantastic start with the Impossible Plot Point, the death of the Doctor. All sorts of historical teasers, too.
Revelation: River Song was a young girl when she first met the Doctor. Is she the little girl calling Nixon?
Revelation: Amy's pregnant. Is Amy's daughter the little girl calling Nixon? (Is Amy's daughter River Song?
Can't wait for Day of the Moon.
Your thoughts?

Great episode. Although the role of the Silence is still pretty mysterious. Might they actually be good?
I'm guessing the mystery/enigma surrounding the Doctor's death will continue through the season.

Yes, a truly magnificent season opener, and I'd say it really felt that 21st century Who has really come into its own, introducing over-arcing plots which seem to be the norm these days for continuing drama.
The American setting was just fantastic, the Doctor in the White House! Really felt grand, ambitious and cinematic. And can we have more Canton Everett Delaware III please? He's a superb character.
I agree with you Claire, don't think we'll have the Doctor's "death" resolved by the end of next weeks episode. I also don't think Amy's pregnant....I think The Silence have planted the idea in her head to throw her (and the Doctor, and Rory) off and distract them. Or they've done it for some other, more sinister reason.
Can't wait for Saturday!

Excellent, high-energy episode. I don't know if I'll be able to take the tension once we get to the finale?
Nitpick Alert:
Why would Amy and Rory be traveling via a yellow school bus?
By the way, having actually been in the White House, the hallways outside the bathrooms look nothing like that. ;D

Absolutely brilliant episode. Can't wait for Saturday to see where it goes.
(I was also touched by the nod to Liz Sladen's passing.)

Superb opener. I can't really add more than that, other than not long before the next episode I had a dream about the silence and then felt the missus move beside me. I jumped out of my skin!
Scary monster? Yep!
