It was a typical Moffat finale, bring in loads of characters from the past.

I'm still not quite sure why the Doctor married River. It really wasn't needed to restore time. It seemed like he married her just to get her to stop nagging.
Serious marriage counseling required.

I agree with the Prof. The whole point of the episode seemed to be a vehicle to recycle past characters.
It's all timey whimey whiney. Stephen Moffat writes wonderful stories when he's not trying to turn Doctor Who into a soap opera! He should go back to what he does best, and stop trying out-serialise RTD.

I had some difficulties with the ending, I mean if the Tessalecter was the Doctor when being "killed" how did it do the regeneration glowy stuff?
And how would kissing the Tessalecter restore time?

''Spewed from the bowels of hell'' is an understatement. 'The Wedding of River Song' was one of the worst things I have EVER seen on TV (and I have watched rubbish like the 2005 BBC adaptation of 'Dracula'!) and I am almost tempted to burn my TV license in protest! I'd rather read 'The Eye of Argon' everyday for the rest of my life than sit through that again!
