Did you hear the TARDIS during the Olympic opening ceremonies?

Yes.

I did too. I was disappointed that it was the sound only.
Also, I think the TARDIS would have provided a better entrance for Her Majesty than James Bond's helicopter.

Yes, I heard it. I thought they'd make more of it, but they didn't. I agree, it would have made a better entrance for the queen than that silly sketch.

I wish they could have fit it in the closing ceremony. It would have been a hell of a lot better than Russell Brand singing. The Tardis sings better. ;D

Anything is better than Russell Brand! I'd rather have stuck knitting needles in my ears for that bit! The best bit of the closing ceremony had to be Eric Idle's singing Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. Was hilarious!
As for the sketch in the opening ceremony with the Queen, we loved that, were in stitches. Shows the old girl has a sense of humour.

That closing ceremony has to be one of the most embarrassing sights I've ever seen. God alone knows what they'd make of it in the rest of the world. I mean how are people in China and Indonesia supposed to understand Batman and robin getting out of a taxi!? And quite apart from all the clapped out old rock stars that they dug out of their retirement homes, what the hell was Russell Brand all about? He comes on as Willy Wonka, and then goes into a rendition of I AM The Walrus - what has that got to do with Willy Wonka? As for the dancers, if anyone remembers Pan's People on Top of the Pops in the 70s, they were exactly like that. They actually acted out the lyrics quite literally! I was actually squirming at the end of it. Still, we can be thankful for one thing, JOhn Barrowman wasn't on it!
