To be honest, I think I enjoyed The Five(ish) Doctors a bit more than the special itself. It was hilarious where as I found the anniversary story just a run of the mill episode with extra Doctors and a few surprises. But it was still very good.

I haven't really watched the new series since about 2008, but I thought I'd watch this. It made about as much sense as I should have expected. The different strands of the plot hardly connected, Tennant was in full-on "cockney geezer" mode (and Smith was hardly better), more emphasis on things blowing up than on a coherent plot. At least John Hurt was convincing, and it was nice to see a cameo by Tom Baker but I can't say more than that. I can see that the problems that made me give up on the new series are all still around.
