I think the plot was generally good, and Capaldi's performance excellent. My main complaint was the incessant bludgeoning us with the fact the Doctor is older. It was obvious. Move on. And no, the Doctor isn't Scottish! He's Gallifreyan! He may sound Scottish, which I quite enjoy, but as Eccleston said, "Lot's of planets have a North". Why waste time and embarrassment of having him say repeatedly, "I'm Scottish".
Yes, Stephen Moffatt, we love that you're Scottish. Let's move on!
