.....about how you go about setting up a message board like this. Not that I have any plans to set one up myself, or anything like that, but I do feel curious. How do you go about things like getting the banner at the top, and things like that?

Hi Meridiana Setting up a board is quite easy you just go into Proboards and follow the step by step instructions Not quite sure about designing banners and things though since things like that are not really my forte

Yes, as Thasc says it's quite easy. Proboards is very user-friendly that way.
The banners and other graphics are not required, but nice. You'll need a place to host the images. I use proboards.
For creating the images, I use Adobe PhotoShop. Others may use different software.

It is so easy to do. The problem is targeting the right audience and getting members to register.
The Final Frontier has been going a few months now and we have 24 members, all of which come from LM and DW2005.

Have you registered your URL with the free search engines yet.
Google search other forums and ask permission to place a link. Try not to target other DW boards. I have a link on a sports forum in the hope that some sperty person is also a sci-fi fan.
You never know, it may work.
