Kez could bear watching the young man writhe in pain no longer she summoned up all the energy she could find and she closed her eyes and concentrated on stopping Nix, her telepathic skills were still very weak but she had to try something.
Nix quickly opened his eyes, he could sense Kez’s interference and couldn’t focus on causing the young man further discomfort. The young man struggled to his feet and collapsed into a chair. Nix stormed over to Kez and knocked her to the floor
“Your will is not strong enough to defeat me you stupid alien. Try anything like that again and not only will I destroy your nervous companion here but I shall also destroy you!” he boomed.
An arc suddenly shimmered into view and an angry voice said “You will not destroy anybody Nix not unless you have my authority to do so. Now you have the book of Baalus you will proceed with the alien to the bridge as planned. I have made preparations for the ceremony and I do not wish to be delayed any longer. My new helpers will be arriving shortly and it is important that I speak with them alone. Now go!”
The arc disappeared. Once more Kez was at the young man’s side trying to help him
“How can we possibly go anywhere, he’s unconscious and his breathing is so shallow. I won’t leave him here on his own” she told Nix.
Nix sighed he clicked his fingers and the young man came round
“Here let him drink some of this water it should help and then we really must leave. Bring him with you if you must, however he is still surplus to requirements” he replied wearily.
In the Master’s TARDIS control room Kane blasted the threatening slime with his laser gun it crackled and disappeared
“This is getting too weird I think we should cut our losses and get out of here! We can find a safe place for you and your son Mrs Jones! We don’t want anybody else to come to any harm. Set some coordinates for somewhere Master just as long as it isn’t The London School of Economics!” began Tor.
“I won’t leave this wretched planet without my wife I love her more than anything in the universe” the Master snapped.
Tor approached the console “Then I’ll reset the coordinates myself we can’t go back for your wife now it’s out of the question, we’ll be killed before we even get to her” he replied.
Jo had never seen such a murderous look of anger on the Master’s face. He pushed Tor across to the other side of the room
“If you touch that console young man then I will not have any qualms about killing you myself! Question my authority at your own peril! Now we are about to land inside The London School of Economics, where I intend to rescue my wife you had all better start thinking about where your loyalties lie” he said.
“This is the place I picked up that unusual energy reading. My sensors device is beginning to reactivate” Jacob commented.
The Master turned to Jo the anger had gone from his face, he smiled gently at her
“Mrs Jones I cannot ask you to risk your life or that of your son! Jacob, Kane, Tor and I have to go and face whatever danger is waiting for us out there. You will be perfectly safe in here, nothing can break into my TARDIS” he explained.
“I want to help you find your wife and find out whatever is going on!” Jo protested.
Kane gently took Ben from her “Very well then I shall remain here and look after your son” he said.
The Master opened the TARDIS doors and he Jo, Tor and Jacob went outside.
The red eyes were waiting for them
“These others are not part of the plan! And will quickly be disposed of!” they said.
The Master stood defiantly in front of Jo, Tor and Jacob
“No I will not let you harm them!” he said. He closed his eyes and Jo watched in wonder as the red eyes seemed to shatter into a thousand pieces. She shrugged but then she gasped as she saw Tor’s eyes turn red and he laughed insanely……..
