Nix could no longer contain his impatience he picked up the young man, slung him roughly over his shoulder and proceeded on his way.
“I haven’t got time for this Professor Galeano, you have wasted enough time on this pathetic excuse of a human being. You are required at Westminster Bridge you have an appointment there and keeping it is not open to negotiation. Be so kind as to carry the book of Baalus for me whilst I carry this useless article. And don’t get any smart ideas about thinking that the book might help you because you don’t know how to use it! Nix exclaimed
Kez picked up the book of Baalus it felt heavy she wondered if she opened it there might be something inside that would help her stop Nix or at least buy her some time so that she could get the young man to a place of safety. As she opened the ancient cover she felt a presence invade her thoughts, but this was not an evil presence she smiled, this was her husband communicating that he was nearby and would soon be at her side, the presence soon faded and she continued to trudge after Nix, although the temptation to look inside the book of Baalus was getting stronger.
The Master summoned all the strength he could muster to stop Jo from trying to kill them. Jo dropped the knife and as she sank to the pavement the Master quickly caught her, he supported her whilst she recovered her senses.
“What happened I don’t understand!” she began, the confusion clear in her voice.
“The entity is strong, but I managed to free your mind! You’ll be alright now Mrs Jones don’t worry. Come on we’d better get going!” the Master gently explained.
Jacob watched as the top half of the London School of Economics building simply seemed to disappear into thin air
“Looks as if it’s starting, first people and now buildings” he remarked.
“Then it seems that I am charged with saving the human race, well I never thought that would be my job. Oh well needs must I suppose if it means I am reunited with my wife” the Master said wearily.
“I have no wish to see the human race destroyed. Besides I am half human myself so I feel responsible for protecting this planet. I cannot stand by and see my mothers world crumble into oblivion” Jacob added.
“Westminster Bridge we must get to Westminster Bridge it’s our only chance we must stop him, stop him before midnight, if the clock strikes twelve we will all perish and he will become invincible” Tor said.
As they moved on a growling noise grew louder and louder until as they rounded the corner they were confronted by a Azrion, the Master quickly produced his Tissue Compression Eliminator Gun when he tried to fire it nothing happened
“This way follow me” Tor shouted.
They ran after Tor, quickly loosing sight of the Azrion as they hurried on they didn’t notice an arc shimmering into view, Tor smiled
“I have brought them to you my lord, nothing can stand in your way now” he mumbled.
A loud roaring noise filled the air. The Master, Jacob and Jo covered their ears as the noise became unbearable. A hand suddenly seemed to appear from out of thin air, then an arm, a shoulder, a neck. Something it seemed had decided to make its presence known and this time perhaps there would be nothing to do to stop it from destroying everything in its path…….
