As the light began to envelope him Nix cried out in pain
“What is happening, you can’t do this to me I am Nix, by what authority do you think you can……..” he screamed as the pain began to become unbearable.
Kez tried to keep moving but the young man was becoming weaker and weaker in fact he was becoming a dead weight making it almost impossible for them to continue on. Kez finished up dragging him, tears of frustration welled up in her eyes
“Come on we have to keep moving, otherwise we will be engulfed by that light” she almost sobbed.
The young man groaned as unconsciousness was almost upon him. Kez fell herself and shielded her eyes from the speeding light. There was an explosion then nothing, nothing but the sound of the wind.
The being didn’t seem to want to wait for its reluctant group of followers it floated on and on, faster and faster towards Westminster Bridge. Suddenly it came to an abrupt halt it threw back its head and let out a blood curdling howl, then it disappeared from view.
“Now where’s it gone?” Jo puzzled.
“He’s still around here somewhere Mrs Jones, Here take a look at my sensors device, its reading a huge charge of energy still radiating from where the being disappeared from” Jacob explained.
“Shhhh both of you listen” the Master rebuked.
“Listen to what I don’t hear anything” Tor replied a look of amusement clear on his face.
“We’re not interested in what you may or may not have to say. You’ve betrayed us and perhaps you will be responsible for the entire collapse of this planet so if I were you I’d……” Jacob retorted giving Tor an angry glance.
“No I can hear it too. It sounds like somebody sobbing” Jo began.
“Over there, come on it’s coming from over there!” the Master continued as he dashed along the pavement.
“Hold on Master please, it’s not safe to go dashing off like this, the being is still around here somewhere and he could very well destroy us without us even realising it. Now he’s made himself invisible we have to be more cautious then before” Jacob called, the concern clear in his voice.
But the Master didn’t listen he ran over to where a woman and a man were laid on the pavement, the woman was doing her best to shield the man from whatever had been pursuing them. As the Master helped her to her feet a look of relief swept over his face
“Kez my darling oh thank goodness I have found you. I thought I would never see you again. You’re not hurt are you, please say you’re alright I couldn’t bear it if you have been injured” he began tenderly.
Kez shook her head she hugged the Master, overjoyed at being reunited with her beloved husband again, she wiped the tears from her face.
“The young man we have to help the young man, goodness knows what Nix has done to him, but his condition is growing more serious every minute that goes by, we have to get him some proper medical care otherwise I fear he will die” she said.
“Ahh very touching the Master has at last been reunited with his wife. He better make the most of the time he has left with her because it won’t be very long” Tor sneered.
Jacob roughly grabbed Tor’s arm “Explain yourself!” he boomed.
Tor began to laugh as he pointed towards nearby buildings that were starting to blink out of existence
“Prepare yourselves, prepare yourselves for oblivion! he shouted.
Jo watched the pavement under her feet begin to crumble, Jacob pulled her to safety in the nick of time.
“Come on this way, there’s still time if we cross over the bridge” he said, grasping Jo firmly by the hand.
The Master picked the young man up and placed him over his shoulder and ran after Jacob and Jo, pulling Kez on behind him.
Another loud roar filled the air and paving slab after paving slab began to disappear as something made its way towards them. Everything was on the verge of disintegrating and then entropy would reign supreme…………………………
