Chapter 4
The Master found himself rooted to the spot he couldn’t move however much he tried to, sheer will power was not enough. As Kez began to disappear into a block of ice a tall man materialised the Master recognised him as the being he had summoned back in London. The man smiled
“Please let me wife go you said she would not be harmed! I demand you release her I will not tolerate this trickery!” the Master boomed.
The man laughed “You are in a position to demand nothing you insolent Timelord. I told you earlier that when I am summoned the price you pay for it is very high. But in this instance I decided that I would put you to the test and if you prove worthy then I will spare you, your wife and your TARDIS. Do not anger me or I will destroy your wife and then you will watch the man and the young man upstairs suffer, I do so like altering the course of history, one of my favourite past times. However if I destroy the young man upstairs you will……. No, no I mustn’t spoil things” he said.
“Alright, alright we’ll do things your way! But first please I implore you release my wife she doesn’t deserve your wrath” the Master pleaded.
The man pointed towards Kez and the ice broke into little pieces, Kez collapsed on the floor, the Master rushed over to her and gently cradled her in his arms
“What have you done to her, don’t you think she has suffered enough already! You could at least give us some clues as to what is going on here and how you expect us to find a way out” the Master continued
“Professor Galeano will recover never fear! Oh dear since you got married you have changed and not for the better, mending your evil ways is not something you should really be considering I advise you to resume your life of crime as soon as possible, domesticity doesn’t suit you at all. You must work out how to find a way out of here by yourself. I have provided you food, shelter and warmth, the rest is up to you, I could send you even more confused humans but two is sufficient I think for the time being. A clue, a clue oh yes well the young man upstairs you can call him Caesar ask him about the key he might know where to find it there again he might not……..” the man faded out of existence and was gone.
The Master gently shook Kez “Kez my darling wake up, please Kez I love you, please wake up” he began, the concern clear in his voice.
Kez woke up she recoiled from the Master “No stay away from me, keep away from me” she panicked.
Darling, it’s me it’s Emil! I’m here I won’t let anybody hurt you” the Master reassured, kissing Kez tenderly on the cheek.
Kez said “Emil I’m so cold, I’m so very cold”
The Master placed her in a nearby armchair saying “I’ll go and fetch you a blanket, you sit here quietly and rest, you’ll be alright my love. Don’t worry I shall be right back”
He hurried upstairs not wanting to leave Kez alone for very long knowing how vulnerable she must have been feeling. He hesitated though and went in to see the young man, who was still fighting against a raging fever.
“You’re going to tell me where the key is Caesar sooner or later you’re going to tell me” the Master whispered.
Caesar whimpered and moaned, the Master recoiled from the bed when he saw an eel like creature crawl out from under the covers it snarled revealing razor sharp teeth it lunged itself at the Master, catching him off balance…………………
