Chapter 8
The Master snatched the sword from Jazaran, throwing it as far away as he could
“What are you doing to Caesar, leave him alone how dare you come here and think you can endanger peoples lives!” the Master boomed.
Jazaran helped Caesar to sit up he gave him a glass of water and made him drink it slowly
“You will recover in a few moments, the fever has passed” he said ignoring the Master.
Caesar frowned “But this is not London or Leicester! Leicester I should be in Leicester I shall be late for….. late for an appointment!!” he panicked.
“There are things that you do not understand, I will try and explain when you are properly rested” Jazaran reassured.
“The Master was furious at being ignored “Right well perhaps you will be kind enough to explain to me what on earth you have done to Caesar! When I came in the room I quite plainly saw a skeleton in that bed. I warn you Jazaran if you’ve harmed him in any way then I……”
Jazaran pushed the Master roughly out of the bedroom retrieving his sword as they went. “For your information alien I was saving Caesar’s life! Besides what do you care, stupid delirious human I believe you called him earlier on. Snatching Caesar from his time stream has taken a tremendous toll on his very being, he cannot exist for very much longer in this particular place, he belongs in the past not in the future. I have simply slowed down the disintegration period until we can find a way out of here” he explained.
“Alright I suppose I might have jumped to a rather hasty and inaccurate conclusion, but we need to question Caesar about a key, the other being said he may know where we can find it. Or could he have been deceiving us, well there is one way to find out” the Master replied.
Jazaran blocked the Master’s way, shaking his head “No questions for Caesar not yet, not until he has rested! You can feign concern all you want, I know who you are and what you are really like there is only so much longer that you can go on with your ridiculous pretences. Now if you come with me I will show you a map showing us where we need to go if we are ever to stand any chance of getting out of here” he said.
Kez had made some tea for Max and herself. When she saw the Master she rushed over to him and asked about Caesar “Is he alright Emil, he hasn’t been harmed has he, if anything happens to him I shall never forgive myself!” she began.
“Gracious lady calm yourself Caesar is recovering rapidly. I shall let you go and see him shortly. For now though you must all pay attention and listen carefully to me” said Jazaran, putting a comforting arm around Kez’s shoulders. Kez pulled quickly away from him.
“Listen to you, why should we listen to you, we don’t know who you are, and what’s more we don’t trust you” Max began.
“Calm yourself Max, Jazaran may think he is in control of this particular situation, but we don’t need his help we shall find our own way out of here” the Master added.
“Emil I have something to tell you, it’s about Max and Caesar I think I know what is happening and…..” Kez urgently began.
She didn’t get to finish her sentence since all eyes were on Jazaran he stood in the middle of the room laughing, he was being enveloped in a huge maelstrom, furniture was being sucked into it followed by the walls of the cottage, the Master pulled Kez and Max towards the hallway, but felt himself being pulled back towards the centre of the room and the debris that whirled, danced and disappeared in the blinding, howling storm……….
