Hi,
As you may have heard, Richie has locked LM to cool things off. I was sad to hear this. After the upset at DW2005, it is disheartening. Apparently, there was disagreement over deleted/locked posts.
[Please, let's not debate the particulars here.]
I hope things work out. I think everyone agrees; Richie's a good bloke.
I believe I have chosen good moderators for TT40, Thascalos and The Doc. (And I may add another one in the near future.) They both have acted with discretion and moderation. However, should there be a serious complaint, please PM or E-mail me.
My personal preference is to not delete, lock or censor anything. I would however, not hesitate to move heated discussion to the Extreme Views board, which is appropriate. Debate is welcome, but attacks are not. I have only deleted one comment so far, which on further reflection, the poster would probably not made if they thought longer about it.
We've had a peaceful time here, even with our colourful characters.
Now everybody, let's mombo!!!! ;D

Richie, you have my 100% support. I hope things get better over at LM. Take your time in reopening. I would hate to see LM close up for good.

I'm really sorry to hear this, though I can imagine only to well what the reasons are. Richie is a good bloke. I felt I had to leave LM several weeks ago, but this was not anything to do with him, it was because the old DW2005 board was reopened by some members as a "we hate Dan" shrine, which seemed to be an attempt to humiliate him constantly. I couldn't accept this. Everyone does wrong things occasionally, but they should not be punished for it endlessly. However, let's leave that aside.
As a matter of fact, I was going to rejoin the other week, but I looked in and what did I see, lo and behold, another row was going on. Of course, none of this is Richie's fault, it's just the quarrelsome nature of some Doctor Who fans.
Anyway, I hope he manages to reopen it soon.

I admit that there has been a vocal minority that kept harping on Dan and what he did. Despite the "we hate Dan" group, I have done my best to squelch those comments to try and get people to move on. I feel no ill will toward Dan. We have had pretty heavy disagreements in the past. And, I don't agree what he did over on his board or his blog. But, I have moved on from it. Some were more deeply affected by Dan. It will take time for the situation to completely die down. Give it some time.

Not sure if that is good or not due to the amount using the forum. No I don't like arguments (heated debates are ok if insults are left out) but would be nive if more supported this forum. |
