Wacky coat. Urges to kill Peri. Nemesis of Michael Grade. Yet another trial.
What else can you say?

I thought he was a good Doctor.

I was never keen on Colin Baker. His over-the-top portrayal, just went too far in the direction of obnoxiousness in my opinion. I realise that the idea was that he was mentally unbalanced after his regeneration, and would gradually settle down, but I don't think that was ever conveyed effectively. He was also obviously basing the obnoxiousness on Hartnell, while forgetting that there were a lot more aspects to Hartnell's portrayal than just being a grumpy old git. As for his stories, the season 22 stories were not on the whole too bad, with the exception of Timelash, but I think they were ruined both by his portrayal, and by a tendency to put "humour" into the stories, which was very often misplaced. Trial of a Time LOrd was just diabolical, an incoherent mess, with a last story that didn't even make sense. And this was becoming an increasing problem at this time, too, a tendency to stories that didn't make much sense. Though of course, that was the fault of the scriptwriters, not his fault.

While not my favourite Doctor, his portayal in the webcast 'Real Time' was quite good. I attribute it to two things: getting rid of the idiotic costume and a damn good script. Even Baker lamented the poor quality of his scripts in an interview.

I too found his portrayal a bit obnoxious.
I've never seen Colin Baker in anything else. It would be interesting to see him in a more normal role.
