If you were given the assignment of redesigning a completely new and different TARDIS interior, what would you do?

I'd proably have it a mix of the original and the new. very large, ultramodern and alien, but filled with nicknacks that the Doctor has collected on his travels. antique chairs, ornate clocks.
that sort of thing.
the scanner screen would be on the console room, and would be a large screen

Yes, that's one thing missing from the new TARDIS, the nicknacks from across time. Very good.

I didn't mind the TARDIS interior at all, but I would re-design the consol. I didn't like that.

Oh, you are all recalling the past. We'll looking for something new.
How about liquid walls? The water changes colour depending on whether one is moving forward or backward in time. Red for forward, blue for back. If it's green...it's trouble.
And a holgraphic console which changes according to need or desire?
And the TARDIS can talk, but only in cryptic phrases (Think Kosh from B5)

I'd proably make it a cross between the TARDIS console room and the original Lab from the Tomorrow People, possibly with the Goodies Trandem leaning against a wall and a framed picture of Kitten Kong ;D

I always wanted to see an episode where the companion comes into the console room only to find him/herself outside, with The Doctor operating the console in the middle of a field surrounded by sheep or cows. Companion: 'Doctor? Why is the Console Room now a Console Field?' Doctor: 'Got bored. Don't you like it?' Cow: 'Moo. Moo. Moo. Moo.' Doctor: 'Ooh. Proximity alarm. Thank you Daisy.' You could change the location every so often. Console in the jungle. Console on a beach. In an empty department store. Log cabin etc. etc.
