The 4th Doctor was 750-760 years old. The 6th Doctor mentions he's over "900 years old" The 7th Doctor specifically says he is 953. I don't recall an 8th Doctor mention of age. Yet the 9th Doctor is still just "over 900 years old"
That doesn't seem right. It seems like he should be older. Are they afraid to cross the 1000 year mark? Would that make him too old?

You know, I kinda was thinking the same thing. He should be older.
I wonder if the 10th doctor will have a 1000th birthday party. He's overdue.

Who does he measure it? Is it based on Earth Years or Gallifreyan ones? How long is a year on Gallifrey anyhow?

personally, i think there's been a bit of a misunderstanding somewhere, as teh Doctor (9th) said something along the lines of 900 years of time travel, and although he said thats his age, he was probably rounding it down or something. people lie about their age all the time, maybe he didnt want to admit that he was 1000 or so, wouldnt you want to lose count if you'd lived that long. besides, i doubt that he was operating the TARDIS immediately he was born, he must have been about 300 or so when he left Gallifrey.

Yes, Romana could gather up all the Doctor's past companions for a transtemporal Birthday Bash! [Note: Actually today is Meddling Monkey's birthday. Wish him a good one. ]

Didn't the second Doctor say he was something like 450 years old in Tomb of the Cybermen?
So assuming he's not lying his butt off he's aged 300 years between incarnations 2 & 4, another 150 years between 4 & 6, and, at the most, 52 years between 6 & 7 (which makes sense with Colin's shortened span).
As I recall it was Rose that said he was 900. He definitely said 900 years of time travel, which I would assume is the point he left Gallifrey.
