I wouldn't mind seeing Jeremy Irons take a shot at it.

Well, my first choice has been blown out of contention (by being cast in Season 2 in another role) Anthony Stewart Head. Unless the Master does a body theft thing like he did in Keeper of Traken Other than that....... Paul Darrow would bring a certain something to the role (and God knows he needs some work to get him off the convention circuit for a while) Or how about John Barrowman? I hate to bring THAT rumour up again, but wouldn't it be a twist to play with people's minds?

Isn't he a bit too old? I'll stick with Jeremy. ;D Is? He could take over the body of someone old or maybe he is nearing the end of his regeneration. I bought 'The Seventh Seal' on DVD yesterday so he was the first actor that popped into my brain. He doesn't look too old and he can still act. He was in a TV mini-series called 'The Sword of Xanten' which was based on the Nibelunglied and the Volsunga Saga (I suggest you read them if you are interested in Norse Mythology) which was camp but fun. He played an old Swordsmith.
