So what did you think?
For me, it was a little wierd finally seeing it. Since I had already read spoilers and posted synopses as well as having seen Confidential over the Internet, I already knew the story. Still it was very gratifying to finally watch it.
I thought Jackie coming on to the Doctor wasreally funny. I also thought it was an interesting comment he makes about his ears, as if he had just regenerated. It would be completely lost on newbies.

There are a lot of fun bits in "Rose". The remark about the ears is funny. The bit of Rose seeing the Doctor through the cat door is good. Funny how Jackie is turned on by the Doctor instantly when she sees him. Then she goes on about anything could happen with her in her dressing gown and a strange man in her room. It's very interesting to see how Jackie relates to the Doctor throughout the series because it changes at least three or four times. I liked how the Doctor was looking at various things in Rose's flat. The remark about the couple getting married not working because he's gay and she's an alien was funny. And the bit about the Doctor fiddling with the playing cards (playing 52 card pickup) is fun.
The "spinning of the world" speech is classic Doctor Who. Great stuff.
Great mythos building up the Doctor by showing him at various places in history.
I absolutely loved the Auton attack scene toward the end of the show. Great stuff.
Some things weren't as good. Auton Mickey wasn't so great. The Auton / Nestene Consciousness story was very rushed. Anti-plastic?

The real surprise for me was how Mickey was such a sniveling coward, cowering even after everything was over. He was pathetic. But overall, I enjoyed it. I also was sad that Clive died. I thought it would have been nice for him to finally meet the Doctor.

I hope so, since I hear he becomes a bona fide companion in series 2.
