I didn't get the story's connection to the title, outside of the Mighty Jagrafess running his operation for 91 years. Outside of that, I thought it was good story.

I found it average. The underlying idea was good - the media being used as a means of social control - but it was done better in Vengeance on Varos. The first part didn't consist of much more than wandering around, and was dull, I thought. It did get better in the second half though, with some moments of genuine horror. The Editor was a good character, but I didn't think much of the Jagrafess, who wasn't at all scary. And wasn't Adam just a waste of space? I mean, what was he there for if he was only going to be a companion for two stories? There seemed no point to it.
So on the whole, an average, unexceptional story.

Upon further viewings, The Long Game is better than you first think. At least it is for me.
And, the title of the episode "The Long Game" will make more sense by the end of the season. Trust me.
I gave this a 5.
