So, was Margaret's tale up to snuff?

I thought this was a fairly interesting story, with an intriguing theme about considering the consequences of your actions, for both Rose and the Doctor. It also had one of Christopher Eccleston's best scenes, in the restuarant, where Margaret Slitheen was talking to him about the long-term consequences of one's choices. I also liked the subtle homage to the TVM in the final scenes.
However.... once again, it had to be ruined by RTD's stupid ideas about what is funny. The silly chase sequence was an obvious spoof of action films, complete with Mission Impossible-style musical accompaniment. And the scene I mentioned above, in the restuarant, had some of its dramatic impact taken away by the ridiculous slapstick scene which preceded it, in which she tried to poison him. I found these things spoiled an otherwise thought-provoking story.

I thought this was the weakest story of the series. But admittedly, they can't all be gems. There were some nice moments. Although I think the dinner scene was overrated. Also, I didn't like them making Mickey feel so bad, high-fiving each other, etc.

While I don't think it was the most exciting episode, or particularly plot driven, I like that it takes Mickey and Rose's relationship seriously. It shows the personal cost of taking up with the Doctor.
