In a press release due to go out in 22 minutes, the BBC have announced that Freema Agyeman is to be the new companion to the 10th Doctor. You'll have seen her have a large amount of brain tissue removed from her ear by Chrissie from Eastenders.
She joins the show in the opening episode of Season 3 and RTD promises us some surprises to join David Tennant for the Christmas special. My money's on Captain Jack or a direct continuation of the events of Doomsday. But there we go. Discuss, Debate, Speculate.

Discuss, Debate, Speculate. DIS-CUSS! DE-BATE! SPEC-U-LATE! PON-TIF-I-CATE! ;D I wasn't fond of her as Adeola but who knows. She'll probably (hopefully) be entirely different as Martha Jones. She hasn't got a large list of TV credits. Apart from Army of Ghosts she was a regular in the Crossroads remake. Appeared in a couple of Casualty @ Holby City specials, three episodes of The Bill and an episode of Silent Witness. Plus something called The Rulers. She appears to have done a bunch of theatre and dance though. Here's a bit from a Crossroads site. Freema Agyeman may sound like a relative newcomer to the acting profession but it's so far from the truth. She went to Middlesex University and came away with a BA Honours in Performning Arts and Drama and spent the summer of 1996 in a theatre summer school. Also, Freema studied at Radford University in Virginia, in the United States of America. Since then she has acquired a huge list of theatre spots, film and dance credits to her name. She is a member of the Islington Arts Factory.
This girl is also very flexible, with an ear for accents (her native one is London) and can do Australian and Liverpudlian accents as well. She can also do basic martial arts, horse riding and basic gymnastic skills! Don't cross her!She also has a quite basic unofficial website (though I think it's been cobbled together recently so may expand) freemaagyeman.com/And hey! A new name for people to constantly spell wrong!

Hmmm, I was very sceptical about Billie Piper until I saw her act in the Millers Tale (?) and after that I was convinced and have since fallen madly in love with her. However, I suppose the good thing about Freema is she doesn't have any real well publicised background, she's a relative unknown and fair enough her performance in Army of Ghosts wasn't exactly brilliant, but I couldn't help but see the parallells between her in the sealed off area and Rose in the basement in "Rose" she may be a different character in Series 3, but the hints were there.

I didn't like Rose and thought Billie Piper was a bad actress. I hope this one os better.

I don't think Billie Piper was the best the show has ever had, but she was at least better than Bonnie Langford, Matthew Waterhouse, Jackie Lane and K-9.
She did have her moments.
