The Sun today claims that the Rani will be coming back in Series 3, and Footballers Wives actress Zoe Lucker is lined up to play her. If it's true I guess they're keeping up a tradition of camp.

I saw that one and will believe it when it is announced officially. I don't like Zoe Lucker as an actress. This will be a poor choice if true.

I thought if The Rani did return that Kate O'Mara would be playing the role again

If the Rani did return, on RTDs watch; she'd be a highly sexualised villain, maybe a bit of Batman/Catwoman style tension between her and the Doctor. And could you really see sexual tension between David Tennant and Kate O'Mara? It's an interesting rumour, and we'll just have to see if it comes true I suppose.

Sexual Chemistry? How about bringing back Sophia Myles? Now that was sexual Chemistry. She may make a great baddie.

Good point, I've heard other rumours that Sarah Parish is gonna be in the new series, another person Tennant has had some crackling onscreen chemistry with.

Kate O'Mara looked good for her age. But that was 15 years ago.
I'm not that excited to see the Rani character come back. But I'm open to being surprised.

I like Kate O'Mara but she is getting a bit old for the role. I say they bring Kate O'Mara as the Rani to make her regenerate into a younger appearence. I say they ask an actress who is from the theatre as I cannot think of any good TV actresses that would suit the role.

I'm starting to think that a new Timelord villain is needed, maybe a survivor of the Time War who holds the Doctor singularly responsible for the destruction of Gallifrey, I think that would be really good, although if I'm correct that may have already been done in "The Gallifrey Chronicles"?

I actually feel a bit indifferent towards the idea of the Rani coming back. She was OK in the two stories she was in, but I wouldn't see her as one of the classic villains. I think you could get away with bringing the Master back, becuase he's a character people tend to remember, and on the good side, the Brigadier, but I don't really feel much bothered by any other villains coming back.
