It's interesting. Eccleston left after Series 1. Piper left after Series 2.
Freema Agyeman, who will play medical student Martha Jones, joins the show for Series 3. So who if anyone will leave at the end of Series 3.
Does anyone know if Tennant has signed up for a third season?
Will Series 4 bring Doctor #11?

They have already wasted Doctor #8 and Doctor #9.......
If they do change the Doctor, I hope Doctor #11 is brilliant and is in the show for years (the same goes for 12# and 13#).

According to a poster on OG, there's an article in the People claiming that ITV and Hollywood are offering Tennant a lot of money. Whilst Series 4 hasn't been confirmed, I'm guessing they're probably waiting to see what happens with the departure of Billie, who has been the new viewers way into the series. I hope to god Tennant stays as I'm not entirely sure the show could take another regeneration from the Doctor. Have him stay for at least a fourth series, mainly because I love him and it will make the series stronger having a permanent Doctor.

I do hope Tennant stays for at least three years. That was the usual stay for the Doctors in the old series.
I also wonder how long RTD will stay before he gets bored.
If Tennant leaves, I'll unselfishly offer my services. ;D

I'd love Moffat and Gatiss to take over from RTD who must be wanting to take a backseat by now. I think Moffat and Gatiss would bring a sort of new Hinchcliffe era which would just be awesome and I think the kids would absolutely love it!

I read the article in the People and it would seem that Tennant has yet to agree to a third season. ITV and Hollywood are as OMK said offering him lots of dosh to leave Dr Who. Also, RTD looks set to leave at the end of Season Three to concentrate on his own Drama projects.

I think it is a good thing that RTD is taking a little break, afterall with Torchwood and the Sarah Jane 1 hour special/pilot the man will be knackered and no doubt quality will dip. However, I really really hope David Tennant is staying on for at least another year.

I've always felt RTD was stretching himself too thin.

A change at the end of the next series will be too soon an viewers may get fed up with not being able to settle in to the charecters.

The thing is, Tennant is a self confessed fan of the show. And he's always said he'll stay in the role forever, as long as the BBC and the general public warm to him and the show...and I think that's pretty much a given. If anyone should leave or take a backseat it's RTD. Although I felt his second series stories were all superb and better than his first series ones.

Maybe we should send David Tennant letters saying that if he doesn't do at least another year, we'll never watch him in anything else. Too OTT?

On the BBC site, it says that RTD is making plans for Series 4, although it has not been commissioned yet.

And in the Sun, they claim David Tennant has signed on for a third series but that will probably be it. Without series 4 being confirmed though, this is still really rumour and speculation.
