I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying the second series as it's currently playing out in the U.S. right now. I didn't for Christmas Invasion so much. I thought it was a weak story, but the rest have been fantastic.
I can't wait for Rise of the Cybermen on Friday night.
David Tennant really works for me. He's The DOCTOR!

Some of the stories in the second season have certainly been an improvement on the previous year's. The cyberman story is a good one, almost classic Doctor Who in many ways. But don't get too excited! There's a couple of real turkeys coming up later on. I won't put in any spoilers - but don't hold your breath for episodes 10 and 11...

Rise of the Cybemen is not bad, but it's mostly just setting up for Age of Steel which is excellent.

Age Of Steel is very odd, it's like an action movie! But yeah, series 2 is so much more fun, much like the old series, different exciting adventures each week, it's ace!

Well Claire should have seen it by now so...
I'm not particularly fond of the Rise/Age two parter. There are some nice bits in it. The scene with Mickey and Rose going off in two different directions with the Doctor in the middle. The cooling ducts with Mrs. Moore. The almost throwaway scene where the Doctor gives away ten years of his life to power a return home.
Mostly though it's not one I'd go out of my way to watch.

I'm still waiting for Amazon to deliver my second series DVD. Should be here either today or Monday. I can't wait to add my 2 cents

Okay, I got the series and watched every episode back to back. I still prefer Eccleston as the Doctor. But Tennant will do. Eccleston had more machismo -- testoterone -- gravitas. He played the Doctor as a leading man. Tennant plays him like a character actor. His is a more traditional Doctor -- intelligent, but idiosyncratic -- goofy even. Eccleston could be silly too. But he also could be scary and intimidating. Take the Christmas Invasion for example. It's inconceivable that Eccleson's Doctor would've behaved the way Tennant did. It was like Tennant was channeling Rowan Atkinson. Eccleston's Doctor was so efficacious, it didnt bother me when he called Mickey an idiot. Everyone is a moron compared to this guy. With Tennant, however, I didn't feel the same way. I'm still a fan though....and enjoyed several of the episodes.
