Bad news: Catherine Tate is to return as the regular companion in series 4.
Don't get me wrong I've liked her in her comedy roles, but I found her completely irritating in "The Runaway Bride". Donna seemed far too dim to travel with the Doctor.

She surprised me in 'The Runaway Bride' but 13 episodes? I'm really not sure I like the direction this is going. Still, I'll probably be on here after Episode 1 ecstatic with joy. Wont I? Anyway, I'm off to go and disappoint myself some more with Die Hard 4.0.

Well, I thought she was awful in The Runaway Bride, so I don't have high hopes for this. It confirms all the worst fears I've had since last year - the series is going downhill rapidly.

I have to admit I am disappointed about Catherine Tate's return. I found her even more irritating than Mel or Adric.

I'm not that familiar with Catherine Tate's work. But it just so happens that the SciFi channel is beginning to broadcast Series 3 tonight. So, I'll watch Runaway Bride tonight, and see if she's as bad as everyone says.

Just watched Runaway Bride. Actually, the Racnoss Empress was overacting so much, she made me forget Tate.
There are moments when she's not screeching, that she's not too bad. I certaining hope she plays it in a non-screeching way.
Either that or they kill Donna off Adric-style. ;D

I didn't see the Christmas Special so I don't know what Catherine Tate is like
But I think Sally Sparrow would definitely make a good assistant for the Doctor
