In Voyage of the Damned, the Tenth Doctor explicitly says he's 903 years old.
Yet the Sixth Doctor says he's "over 900"
Again, in Time and the Rani, the Seventh Doctor says he and the Rani are the same age, 953.
Where did the 50 years go?

I like to think he's just lying about his age. After all who hasn't done that at some point in their life?

I like to think he's just lying about his age. After all who hasn't done that at some point in their life? Well I haven't. But this it is an odd time to be lying and be so specific.

Maybe he misspoke.
But you think RTD would be more careful.

Maybe 953 or whatever is deemed old by the Timelords and 903 is their version of "I'm 21, honest"
